Exhibition games give Lake Oswegans a front-row seat to the growing sport of pro pickleball
Out-of-town guests and local fans gathered at Lake Oswego's George Rogers Park last week to watch a series of pickleball exhibition games featuring four of the sport's top players.
Three of those players are local: Wes Gabrielsen from Hillsboro, Kurtis Campbell from Beaverton and Bonnie Williams from Portland. They joined Kyle Yates of Fort Myers, Fla., in what the co-president of Lake Oswego's Pickleball Club called "a first for the Portland area."
